The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee

Last Resort Players presents The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee, a musical comedy. The show centers on a fictional spelling bee set in a geographically ambiguous Putnam Valley Middle School.

The competition is about to begin at the 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee and these contestants are serious! In this riotous play, a quirky group of six mid-pubescents (played by adults) vie for the spelling championship of a lifetime, run by three equally quirky grown-ups. While candidly disclosing hilarious and touching stories from their home life, the tweens spell their way through a series of [potentially made-up] words hoping to never hear the soul-crushing, pout-inducing, life un-affirming "ding" of the bell that signals a spelling mistake. Six spellers enter, one speller leaves!

Performance dates are Fridays, Saturdays on June 12, 13, 19, 20 at 7:00 pm and Sunday matinees on June 14, 21 at 2:00 pm.
