Community Health Fair


The annual Community Health Fair will be presented at the Florence Events Center as a community service by the Florence Seventh Day Adventist Church for a three day event, April 17-19.

The activities begin on Friday, April 17th at noon with a free lunch for the first 100 attendees, prepared by Bridgewater Restaurant. At 1:00 PM a free Adult CPR/First Aid/AED class will be held. Preregistration at lindasveggies@gmail.com by email is required. From 1:00 to 5:00 PM; health booths, exercise demos, games, and prizes will be offered.

On Saturday, April 18th the event continues with more activities to promote a healthy lifestyle. A 1:00 PM lunch, prepared by the ladies of the Seventh Day Adventist Church will start the days activities, at no charge. Beginning at 2:00 PM, there will be a full line up of 20 minute health presentations:

Dr. Charles W. Korando, DDS, PC. - "The Importance of Oral Hygiene in Pregnant Women"

Joan Taber, Dietician and Certified Diabetic Educator - "Gluten Sensitivity and Celiac Disease"

Frank Nulty, CERT Coordinator - "Emergency Food Secrets for Your Survival Kit"

Dr. Gina Wilson, OB/GYN - "The Benefits of Water"

Emmanuel Beaulieu B.S., BC-HIS - "Coping With Hearing Loss"

On Sunday, April 19th, a 5K fun run/walk will start and end at the the Florence Events Center. Registration begins at 7:30, with a starting time of 9:00 AM. Those marathoners that preregister with Linda at lindasveggies@gmail.com will receive a commemerative t-shirt.

Attendees are encouraged to bring food items for the Food Share drive.
