Jazz Kings "Avalon"

Last year’s Jazz Kings tribute to the Jazz Age was such a hit and was such a gas to do. Yet so much great material from that hot, sassy and fascinating period of American popular music had to be left out, Jesse and the band felt they just had to do a follow-up version!

This year’s show gives a special nod to the many fantastic female vocalists of the period, including Helen Kane, Annette Hanshaw, Bessie Smith and Ida Cox; but we’ll also look take on early sides by Hoagy Carmichael, Bing Crosby and the Rhythm Boys and more. Look for such gems as “Dangerous Dan McGrew," “That’s My Weakness Now," “Body And Soul," “I Need A Little Sugar In My Bowl," “River Boat Shuffle," “Wild Women Don’t Have The Blues," “Livin' in the Sunlight, Lovin' in the Moonlight." And, of course, "Avalon!"
