Oregon Ballet

OBT2 is composed of talented dancers, who perform alongside the dancers of Oregon Ballet Theatre in their large productions. On the cusp of a professional career, these dancers will perform classical, romantic, neo-classical and contemporary styles on this tour stop. Prepare to witness impressive and inspiring dancing.

Attendees can look forward to The Sleeping Beauty’s Jewels Pas de Quatre — the royal wedding scene with fairies. OBT2 will also dance in the neo-classical style with Three Themes — an aggressive and thoughtful piece featuring classical steps with lean, angular style. The Dying Swan — one of the most iconic female roles in all of ballet — will epitomize the beauty and fragility of a romantic-era ballerina while Giselle’s Peasant Pas de Deux beautifully shows the tenderness of a peasant girl who dies of a broken heart after discovering her lover is betrothed to another. OBT’s School Instructor Phillip Carman’s work By George will demonstrate a neo classical style with flowing and jazzy movements while Over Time from OBT Principal Peter Franc will showcase contemporary dance. And OBT Soloist Matthew Pawlicki-Sinclair’s “Belonging” is a coming-of-age piece infused with a contemporary, neoclassical style.
