The Florence Events Center is located on the Oregon coast only one block from the famous Highway 101. The Pacific Ocean, a dozen lakes, the Siuslaw National Dunes, and even 'Old Town' shopping are all only minutes away from our events facility.
Whether it is an evening at the theater, or a conference for 400, an elegant wedding, a weekend of Chowder, Blues and Brews, or Storybook Theater's presentation of Oliver or Wizard of Oz, there is something for everyone at the Florence Events Center.
Some of the events we host include the Oregon Police Chiefs Association Convention, Coast Chamber Orchestra, Tourism Commission Conference, Association of h2O Utilities, Department of Forestry Conference and Banquet, and the Confederated Oregon School Administrators Convention.
The Events Center is home to many educational and fun events including the Home and Garden Show, Florence Performing Arts, Kremlin Chamber Orchestra, world renowned harpist-pianist Paul Hurst, Last Resort Players, Humane Society Wine and Chocolate Gala, Planned Parenthood, Talent Shows, Medicare Seminars, the Jazz Kings, The Last Resort Players and the very popular weekend of fun at the Chowder, Blues and Brews Festival.

 Florence Hobby Fair
needs Hobbyists!
What do you do in your spare time … dabble in dolls, mess with magic, wrangle with radios, tinker with trains, or play with pottery? There is a multitude of activities that qualify for hobbies.
If you have a hobby that you would like to share with others, a hobby group that would like to build its membership or just get more exposure, you should consider reserving a space at the Florence Hobby Fair on Saturday, August 8, from 10 am to 4 pm at the Florence Events Center, 715 Quince St, Florence. There are two space options available; an 8’x10’ booth renting for $35, or an eight foot table for $20. These both will be discounted by $2 if you sign up before July 1.
The Friends of the FEC are sponsoring the Florence Hobby Fair. They are encouraging individuals or groups to demonstrate their activity or have some hands-on displays that can be shared with attendees.
There will be a $1 admission charge.

Curt Peters & Digital Dunes Photography presents
“The Mind’s Eye"
Curt Peters is proud to present “The Mind’s Eye,” his Fine Art Photography show, during the month of July at the Florence Event Center. Come and see all new images, photographed, printed, mounted and displayed by the artist himself. Curt’s photographic artistry will “wow” the viewer and inspire all who have an interest in Fine Art Photography and the world around them. Be sure not to miss this show - landscapes, seascapes, black & white, vivid color, large scale prints, and a few surprises!

The Mind's Eye
An Artist’s reception will be held on Sunday, July 12th, 2009 from 4 to 7 pm at the Florence Events Center in Gallery One. Please come and meet Curt and enjoy finger foods, and assorted beverages.
FEC Gallery Five
“The Martians” by Horst Wolf
 “The Martians” is a whimsical exhibit created by Horst Wolf, who also wrote the limericks which go with each piece. According to Wolf, “It is the result of several trips to Mars with a spacecraft powered exclusively by Tequila.”
The work illustrates life on Mars, Martian professions and the Martian IRS, among other organizations.
The artist’s reception for Wolf, a member of the Watercolor Society of Oregon, will be on Sunday, July 12, 5-7 pm in Gallery 5 at the Florence Event Center.
FEC Display Case
“Recycling Trees” by James McHenry
 “Recycling Trees” will be featured in the Gallery One Display Case for the month of July. Artist, James McHenry, has been turning wood for about sixteen years and says that turning wood is very relaxing for him.
Ecologically minded McHenry enjoys going to the beach to find various interesting woods to recycle into his unique wood turns. All pieces are finished in nontoxic walnut oil and wax. The Gallery welcomes the return of this talented artist, who has always been well received by the FEC patrons.
