FRAA Coastal Plein Air Art and Wine Festival

-

Artists from Washington and Oregon will paint at coastal locations “plein air” between Newport and Bandon for two weeks prior to the festival.  Last year you could see artists painting at Darlingtonia, Jerry’s Place, Old Town locations, Woahink Lake, Cleawox Lake and many other local places.  If you see artists painting at outside locations between July 21st and August 3rd, make sure you say hi and ask them about their painting.  They love to share their passion for plein air painting.

Artists then compete for awards and prizes as judged by Aimee Erickson, aimeeerickson.com, @1aim on Instagram, and Aimee Erickson Artist on Facebook.  Erickson will also be teaching a workshop, The Magic of Plein Air Color Studies, at Driftwood Shores August 1st-3rd.   Participants will learn to play with color on location learning to see the possibilities of a chosen color palette.

The Festival on August 5th and 6th will display and have for sale the artists artwork which they painted during the previous two weeks.  We will also have wine tasting from select wineries of the Willamette and Umpqua Valley.

We hope you can join us for our event and even choose your favorite to win the People’s Choice Award.   The event is free to attend, however there will be a fee for wine tasting. For more information, see FRAA’s website: http://www.fraaoregon.com/coastal-plein-air/
