C.R.O.W. will present Seussical The Musical, April 17–26, 2026, at the Florence Events Center. The production features six public performances (Fridays and Saturdays at 7:00 pm and Sundays at 2:00 pm), along with two free school outreach performances serving approximately 900 local students.
Created by Tony Award winners Lynn Ahrens and Stephen Flaherty (Ragtime, Once on This Island), Seussical brings beloved Dr. Seuss characters to life in a story that travels from the Jungle of Nool to the Circus McGurkus to the invisible world of the Whos. Narrated by The Cat in the Hat, the musical follows Horton the Elephant as he protects a tiny world on a speck of dust while also caring for an abandoned egg. Themes of friendship, loyalty, family, and community drive the story.
“The characters in Seussical share a message that is surprisingly timely,” said Director and Choreographer Melanie Heard, C.R.O.W.’s Artistic Director. “You will leave the FEC thinking new ‘thinks.’ Come celebrate the power of imagination with our multi-talented young artists.”
The production features a cast of 50 youth performers ages 6–18. The show is directed by Melanie Heard, musically directed by Lisa Brandow, assistant directed and assistant musically directed by Angie Walls, and assistant choreographed by Elyse Stewart. C.R.O.W. is celebrating their 15th year as a 501C3 nonprofit organization, serving youth throughout the Western Lane County region and beyond. Shows often sell out, so advance ticket purchase is recommended.
